Virtual GP consultations at The Nine Clinic give you a private video appointment with the same London doctors who see patients at our Harley Street and Sloane Square clinics, from home, from the office or from wherever your travel has taken you.
A virtual consultation is a scheduled video appointment with a GP, conducted over a secure connection. It is a full clinical consultation rather than a quick message exchange, and it ends with the same outcomes as an in-person visit where those are clinically appropriate.
A great deal more than people expect. Our GPs use virtual consultations for new symptoms that do not require a physical examination, review of ongoing conditions, medication questions and repeat prescriptions, results discussions, mental wellbeing support, travel health advice and referrals into specialist care.
Prescriptions are sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choosing, in the UK or, where regulations allow, arranged for collection on your return. Referral letters and medical documentation can be issued after the appointment and sent to you by email.
Where your doctor decides that an examination or a test is needed, they will say so and arrange for you to be seen in person or for blood tests and scans to be booked at the clinic. Continuity matters here. Because your virtual appointment is with a doctor from our own practice rather than an anonymous rota, your record follows you between video and clinic without you having to explain yourself twice.
Virtual consultations suit patients who split their time between countries, executives who travel constantly, parents who cannot easily leave the house, and anyone who would otherwise put off a health concern because of the logistics.
For patients who want ongoing access rather than one-off appointments, our membership and concierge GP packages build virtual consultations into a wider arrangement. Yes, where it is clinically appropriate. Prescriptions are issued electronically and sent to a pharmacy of your choice. Certain controlled medications cannot be prescribed remotely under UK regulations and a paper copy is required, however our concierge pharmacy delivery service can deliver controlled medicines to addresses in the UK if needed.
Yes. Patients regularly consult us from overseas. Appointments are scheduled in UK time, and your doctor will advise if any part of your care needs to be arranged locally where you are.
Your doctor will tell you during the consultation and arrange an in-person appointment at either of our London clinics, often on the same or next working day.
