The Nine Clinic

Private GP Care for Children and Under 18s in London

Children’s health changes quickly, and so do the questions parents have about it. The Nine Clinic provides private GP care for children and under 18s in London, from newborn checks and routine vaccinations through to adolescent health reviews, at our Harley Street and Sloane Square clinics.

Our doctors see children of all ages in a setting that stays calm. Appointments are unhurried, examinations are explained to the child as well as the parent, and nobody is rushed out because the room is needed.

Care From Newborn to Adolescence

For babies and toddlers, we provide newborn and six-week checks, growth and developmental monitoring, feeding and sleep guidance, and the routine childhood immunisation schedule through our vaccination and travel health service.

For school-age children, we cover acute illness, recurrent infections, allergies and asthma, skin conditions, tummy troubles, and the school health forms and letters that always seem to be needed at short notice. Where a diagnosis needs confirming, tests are arranged through our blood tests and diagnostic scans service, and specialist referrals are made directly to paediatric consultants in London.

For teenagers, appointments take a different shape. Adolescents can be seen with a parent or, where appropriate, on their own, and our doctors are used to the topics that come up at that age including mood, sleep, acne, contraception and the pressure of exams. Our mental wellbeing support is available to under 18s where it is needed.

Working Alongside Parents

A child’s health is a family matter, and our doctors treat it that way. We talk through developmental milestones, nutrition, sleep and school health needs, and we tell you honestly when something needs watching rather than treating.

Children who fall ill without warning can usually be seen through our same-day GP appointments, and follow-ups can be handled by virtual consultation where bringing a child back into the clinic is impractical. Schools arranging care for pupils can do so through our services for schools and students. Appointment costs are set out on our services and fees page.

Frequently Asked Questions

From what age do you see children?

We see children from birth through to their eighteenth birthday, including newborn checks in the first weeks of life.

Can I get a same-day appointment for an unwell child?

Yes. Same-day appointments are available at both clinics, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Call 020 3084 1600 as early in the day as you can.

Do you provide the routine childhood vaccination schedule?

Yes. We provide the full routine immunisation schedule as well as catch-up vaccinations for children whose records are incomplete or who have moved to the UK from abroad.

Can teenagers be seen without a parent present?

Where clinically and legally appropriate, yes. Our doctors assess each situation individually and will discuss confidentiality clearly with both the young person and the parent.
