Waiting for a diagnosis is often harder than the diagnosis itself. The Nine Clinic provides private blood tests and scans in London, including full blood panels, bacterial and viral swabs, X-rays, CT, MRI and ultrasound imaging, with results returned quickly so that treatment can begin without delay.
Our clinics on Harley Street and Sloane Square have direct access to established London diagnostic laboratories and imaging centres. That means a test can usually be arranged during or immediately after your consultation, rather than sending you off to organise it yourself.
Blood tests cover the full range a private GP would order, from routine markers such as full blood count, liver and kidney function, thyroid, cholesterol, vitamin and iron levels through to hormone panels, inflammatory markers and infection screening. A blood test is simply a sample taken from a vein and analysed in a laboratory, and most results are back with us within one to three working days depending on the panel.
Swabs are used where an infection is suspected, most commonly throat, bacterial and respiratory swabs. Imaging covers X-rays for suspected fractures, chest and joint problems, and CT or MRI scans where a more detailed cross-sectional view is needed. A CT scan takes a series of X-ray images and builds them into a layered picture of the area being examined. Ultrasound scans can also be requested.
Results come back to your doctor, not to an automated portal that leaves you to interpret details alone. Your GP reviews them, contacts you to explain what they mean in plain terms, and sets out what happens next. If a result needs specialist input, we arrange the referral rather than handing you a printout.
Tests ordered during a same-day GP appointment can often be taken the same visit. Results discussions can be held in clinic or by virtual consultation if that is easier for you. Where testing forms part of a broader picture of your health, our preventative health screening programme is usually the better starting point. Imaging is arranged through our partner diagnostic centres in central London, close to both clinics. Your GP organises the appointment and receives the report directly.
