The Nine Clinic

Vaccinations and Travel Health in London

Vaccination is one of the few pieces of healthcare that is entirely within your control, and it is usually the easiest thing to leave until it is nearly too late. The Nine Clinic provides private vaccinations and travel health advice in London, covering routine immunisations for adults and children as well as destination-specific travel vaccines, at our Harley Street and Sloane Square clinics.

Every appointment starts with a proper review rather than a needle. Your doctor checks what you have already had, what has lapsed, and what your trip, your work or your child’s school actually requires. You leave with your records up to date and a clear note of anything due later.

Travel Vaccinations and Pre-Travel Advice

Travel health is more than a jab. A travel consultation covers the vaccines recommended for your destination, malaria risk and antimalarial options where relevant, food and water precautions, insect bite avoidance, and what to do if you fall ill while you are away. Advice is based on your itinerary, the season, how long you are staying and what you will be doing when you get there.

Timing matters. Some travel vaccines need several weeks and more than one dose to give full protection, so we suggest booking six to eight weeks before departure where possible. If your trip is sooner than that, still come in. There is almost always something useful we can do.

Travellers heading overseas for work rather than leisure may also need a formal fitness assessment, which is covered by our offshore and travel medical assessments and pre-deployment medical assessments.

Routine Immunisations for Adults and Children

We provide the standard childhood immunisation schedule, catch-up vaccinations for children whose records are incomplete, seasonal flu vaccination, and adult boosters such as tetanus and diphtheria. Families new to the UK often arrive with records in another language or another format, and our doctors will work through them with you to establish what is outstanding.

Children’s vaccinations sit alongside our wider paediatric and under 18s care. Schools and colleges arranging immunisation for their pupils can do so through our services for schools and students. Vaccine costs are listed on our services and fees page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book travel vaccinations?

Ideally six to eight weeks before you travel, as some vaccines require more than one dose spaced weeks apart. Last-minute appointments are still worthwhile, and your doctor will advise on what protection is achievable in the time available.

Which travel vaccines will I need?

That depends on your destination, the time of year, the length of your stay and what you will be doing. Your doctor reviews your itinerary against current UK travel health guidance and recommends accordingly.

Do you vaccinate children?

Yes. We provide the routine childhood immunisation schedule as well as catch-up vaccinations for children whose records are incomplete, including those who have moved to the UK from abroad.

Can you tell me which vaccinations I have already had?

If you bring your records we will review them and identify what is missing or due. Where records are unavailable, your doctor can advise on the safest way to establish your immunity or restart a schedule.
