Mental health is not separate from physical health, and treating it as though it were is how people end up unwell for years. The Nine Clinic offers private mental health support in London, with GP-led assessment and care for stress, anxiety, burnout, low mood and sleep difficulty at our Harley Street and Sloane Square clinics.
An appointment starts with time and a proper conversation. Our doctors ask what has changed, when it started and what it is costing you, and they listen without reaching for a prescription pad in the first five minutes.
A mental health consultation at The Nine Clinic covers what is happening now, what has happened before, sleep, work, relationships and the physical symptoms that so often come with psychological strain. It also covers the things that can imitate a mental health problem, including thyroid dysfunction, iron and vitamin deficiency, hormonal change and the side effects of existing medication. Where relevant, these are checked through our blood tests and diagnostic scans service, because treating anxiety that turns out to be an overactive thyroid helps nobody.
From there we agree a plan together. That may involve talking therapy, a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist within London’s private network, medication where it is genuinely indicated, or practical work on sleep, workload and recovery. Follow-up is built in rather than left to chance.
Burnout in particular rarely arrives alone. It shows up alongside disturbed sleep, weight change, blood pressure and exhaustion, which is why mental wellbeing is often best addressed as part of a broader preventative health screening. Mood change linked to hormonal shifts is handled alongside our women’s health and men’s health services, and we also support under 18s through our paediatric and adolescent care.
Consultations can be held in person at either clinic or by virtual consultation where that feels easier. Everything discussed remains confidential. Appointment details and costs are on our services and fees page.
If something has not felt right for a while, an appointment is a reasonable place to start. Call The Nine Clinic on 020 3084 1600 or email info@thenineclinic.com to arrange a consultation at Harley Street or Sloane Square.
If you are in crisis or at immediate risk, please contact emergency services on 999 or the Samaritans on 116 123, which is free and available at any hour.
